Villain is semi-tight and pretty passive, anybody like this line?

Question: Did you check the flop with the intention of CR or was it because UTG made a weak bet?

Assume it was a little bit of both.

Let me put it like this, I knew he had a pair when he bet (I figured a Q) but I didn't think he had two pair since he bet in such a way that he wasn't protecting his hand.

Kind of risky, but that goes both ways in that he'll have to have a MONSTER (or be dumb) to call.

My point was this. Semibluff- You want him to fold here but if you are called you have outs. But what do you do if he bets the pot $600? Now it looks like he is pot commited and will not fold with half his stack invested and a flop that looks like he could easily have a piece of? Now you've lost your FE and have to call or fold. Or reraise knowing that he will not fold. Maybe betting out would be better? I'm not sure but its something to think about. Easy to say after the fact I know.

This is probably how I would play the hand as well.
