So after watching an entire season of the European Poker Tour on Score TV I was really looking forward to the the Grand Finale. For those who have not seen this tour it's quite interesting - some players you have likely heard of (Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot, Gus Hansen et al.) and a bunch you will never have seen before. Anyways it was a great season up until the last two freaking hands.
Check out these horrible decisions which lost the tournament in two quick hands:
*note: Brandon is Brandon Schaeffer and Rob is Rob Hollinck. These hands were heads-up with each player having over $1,000,00 in chips. Blinds were 10 and 20k.
KEY HAND
Hand #30--Brandon raises to 50K and Rob calls.
Flop: T3T with two clubs. Brandon bets 80K. Rob makes it 160K. Brandon announces all-in. Rob says call.
Rob shows T8
Brandon shows 34
Turn: 7
River: 5
Hand #31--Rob raises to 50K. Brandon calls.
Flop: K95. Brandon checks. Rob bets 70K. Brandon calls.
Turn: 8. Brandon checks. Rob bets 70K. Brandon calls.
River: J with three clubs on the board. Brandon checks. Rob announced all in. brandon calls
Rob shows J8 for tow pair. Brandon shows K7 for only a pair of kings.
Rob wins
It may not show as badly on 'paper' as it did on TV but it was damn brutal. Expecially the all-in manouever on a pair of 3's made on the flop - wtf?

Was anyone else blown away by this horrible ending?!?
