View Full Version : Schoonmaker's Quick Reference Spreadsheet
I've almost finished Schoonmaker's book, and I've really enjoyed it. If you've not read it, it's definitely worth the read. I've tried to capture some of his thoughts into a quick-reference format here. I've reworded some things for space trying my best not to change his meanings.
For those of you w/o Excel, I've posted the image here. Otherwise, I've hosted the file here (http://www.nls.net/mp/gaines/Styles.xls)

Very helpful, QTip, thanks. I also appreciated your yearly earnings spreadsheet from a couple of weeks ago (which I tweaked for my own part-time play, limits, and rakeback program).
Might want to just polish it for spelling (hear->here, misplaced apostrophes, etc.) before too many people grab it. Well, this is 2+2: I'm sure nobody will notice. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
OT: Consider switching IE to Firefox and Outlook Express to Thunderbird. They're superior in almost every way.

I have no control over this at work. However, I'll look into it for home use.
I forgot to mention that Schoonmaker also has these summarized in Appendix C in his book. I just wanted to get it all on 1 sheet for quick study.

Does Thunderbird do HTTP mail for Hotmail? Only reason I have to use it, but would love it if there's an alternative.

There *is* an alternative (http://www.hotmail.com).
Also, Google (http://tinyurl.com/7we5u) is helpful sometimes.

A simple "no" would have been fine, why be a dick about it? You said it was superior in almost every way, the first thing you're asked about it shows it's a completely different product that is suitable only as a replacement for a subset of the tasks OE handles.
