View Full Version : Is it really possible my miserable ROI is from just running badly?

Would love if someone who is knowledgable on the accuracy of stats could give me some insight here.

These are all stats from my new SN, so they are the last 3 weeks or so.

199 20 dollar buy ins - 10.10 % ROI.

78 30 dollar buy ins - 7.23 % ROI

total ROI - 9.03 %
total ITM - 35 %

I hit a really nice run and took a stab at the 33s. I was running on one helluva heater that crashed down today. I'd like to think it is mostly from bad beats and would love if someone will tell me this is just a bad beat post. But I have a sinking fear it may not be.

Is it really possible to have that low of a ROI and just be running badly? I really don't think I am a bad player at all. I think I have a very solid game.

Or do I just need to suck up and accept that the statistics don't lie?

It is a small sample size, don't freak out. <300 SNGs is not enough to draw serious conclusions. Don't let it effect your play.

If this was the case then my -8% ROI that I started my first 170 sngs would have meant I comepletly suck and cant beat them. Since then I am at 18% ROI and 40% ITM for totals including my bad start.

Play 1000 sng's and come back and tell us how you did.

Plus it's still a positive ROI, so it's nothing to get worked up about. Just keep playing, see if it goes up, and keep posting hands.

Your sample size is small and you have a +ROI. Don't be greedy! btw after I first started 8 tabling, I was like 10 ROI after my first 300 at the $33s+ $22s. Ok after I got more comfortable it went back up to around 20 and then I moved up, but it's really nothing to be worried about. Also 10 ROI isn't so bad....be worried when your ROI is negative.

Your sample size is very small.

Also, is that a "miserable" roi?

I think a miserable roi is a losing one.

at first I thought those ROI's were negative. Now that i see they arent, I think you are just fine. As everyone has said just stick to your game and dont ever let your results effect your decisions.
