350k party

2 other players in this hand aren't good ... but nothing too crazy. Looking back I would have raised a little more preflop 250-275.

yea, raise more PF

why such an outrageous overbet with the overpair and draw to the 2nd nuts? i think a bet of 300-500 is good here

P.S. I hate these assclowns who make these stupid raises like to 68. Honestly. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

edit-what kind of assclown limp/reraises with no reads. haha. j/k. but seriously, open raise my man.

Your pf raise was fine, but your initial limp was <(((-<. Why do you think that making it t200 was incorrect?

On the flop, you are only getting called by hands that beat you. Put out a 1/2 pot bet and then make the decision. As you played it, you took the poker element out of your hand.

BTW, someone call the Bad Beat Police.

I guess my question is was my push correct since any other bet would commit me?

how would a bet of, say, 400, commit you. you'll have lost 600 chips and still have plenty with the big blind still at 20.

Amen, preacher.

I asked someone one time what the deal was, and he insisted that bets like this work to cause people to fold because "a lot of the time, people aren't paying attention and will think its an all-in."

Somewhere, somplace, sometime, people like this will find a clue and be struck dumb with awe.

If someone did call me, probably a raise if anything, but if they did call me there would be 1400+ in the pot and I don't think there's any way I could lay it down with only 600 behind unless a really scary card came on the turn. I think I agree with open-raising as opposed to limp-raising, but could someone elaborate on it please?

They folded on the flop. The reason I'm posting this hand is because I really don't think I played it correctly.

I'd raise to 250 pre-flop, though I don't really agree with the limp re-raise play unless you were certain of some aggro players after you. On the flop, you should bet 1/2-2/3 of the pot. You have a very strong hand, you deserve to earn some chips. Raising all in is not going to keep 2nd pair, or a flush draw in. A made flush, however, will call you.

you shove encouraging your opponents to fold.

Is that what u wanted? did you want everyone to fold? or did you want to get paid some more by someone who had a queen, and maybe a lower heart draw?
