man i thought i was a super aggro player but, u put me to shame. i think u need to re-read the supersystem and see that he doesnt say to push in this spot for a couple reasons. Number one u are raising 20 into a 7 pot with a 3 high, i think he was talking more along the line of a pot with the size to warrant a push. and 2 u are drawing to the "suckers str8" as Doyle puts it, he directly says this is a play he's not going to make and a hand that should be played carefully. but on the other hand it does produce a good image but that is definately -EV in the long run and u should probably find spots with additional outs if u really want to be like doyle. glad to see the results worked out but remember in that spot u will win less than 1 in 3 and u have no fold equity.

I appreciate the advice, you are right its best to have the upper end of the straight along with other outs. Thats why I try to read as many post as possible to clean up my game.

super system, as a amazing book as it is, can sometimes be outdated. When doyle wrote it he said himself that it was easier to push players around. nowadays its much harder. take that into consideration

Your not saying anything new... That has already been said and explained. Unless your gonna give advice then don't bother putting just 5 words with not advice.

Thank You

Risk a tourney on a sucker end openended straight draw?
If I remember correctly the only thing Doyle refer in SS1 is that he needed to tighten up in the beginning and make his usual play later on... or maybe that was SS2 cant really remember /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Supersystems was for very deep uncapped buy in games where a hefty reraise get a lot more respect than it gets here.

I don't see how in this particular hand it makes any difference if he is drawing to the "sucker str8" or not.
He's makes the play to either bluff villian out or catch his straight. If he gets his straight he's going to win regardless of it being the sucker str8 with 32o or a better oesd with 67.

Not saying he should push, but that is def. not a reason why he shouldnt.
