UTG1 and MP1 are both helmet-wearing 60/12 retards, UTG1 very aggro-postflop but MP1 is very passive. Good fold or too weak?

1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, Hero checks.

Flop: (4.66 SB) T/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, MP1 calls, Button folds, Hero 3-bets, UTG+1 caps, MP1 calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (8.33 BB) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, MP1 3-bets, Hero folds, UTG+1 calls.

River: (15.33 BB) T/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, UTG+1 calls.

Final Pot: 17.33 BB

Results in white below: 
UTG+1 has Ah Ts (three of a kind, tens).
MP1 has 3d Ac (straight, five high).
Outcome: MP1 wins 17.33 BB.

I'm not sure if it is weak, certainly could be a fold under the right reads, but I wished you hadn't posted the results b/c it would give more credibility when I state that I guessed the hands of your opponents.

Thus, I would have called. Not sure if this helps at all, but I see the river in this hand FWIW.

I get the feeling that MP1 is a straightforward player and would raise the flop with a set.

So basically I think it depends on wether you think MP1 is more likely to coldcall on the flop with a set or a gutshot. In terms of card frequency he is a 2-1 favorite to have the straight and not an overset. (Assuming he folds 55 on the flop).

Therefore I think you really need to see the river here.

anyone care to go into why they think this is an easy call?
I was pretty happy with my fold, to be honest.
What does MP1 3-bet with that I beat? I thought a higher set was FAR more likely than the made gutshot, and either way i wasn't in good shape.

top pair, overpair, flush draw, two pair, any combination of those.

Yes way too tight. If you call, there will be 17 big bets in the pot. You are getting 8.5:1 on your call. The chance of filling on the end alone is worth that. In addition there is the chance you are still ahead, which alone is also probably worth it.

You said that they are retarded so a straight is not at all out of the question. He could just have TPTK. Who knows, but a fold here can't be profitable.

Given what you said about these players I would have called and seen the river. The pot odds are too good not to bite the bullet and see the river. This pot is just too big to be folding a set in this situation.

I bet you were really kicking yourself for folding when the prayer river hits.

Although I find this to be one of the funniest things written on the forum of late, I must say that this sentence alone should EASILY justify seeing the river with this hand.
