Puerta is hurt, and he's going after every shot. He will never be in a final of a major again.

Nadal is being hyped as the next guy to fully overtake Federer and the pressure is on him to beat this guy. Plus he just turned 19.

This is good tennis.

First Set Peurta. He could do it.

Puerta wins the first set 7-6 (8-6).

Had Puerta lost that set I guarantee you he would have lost the next two sets like 6-1 6-2 or something like that.

We've got a match now!

He's got a slim chance, yes.

Nadal's style of game, at least this is what the analysts preach, is that a lot of his matches are really close in the first set, and then Naddal demolishes opponents in latter sets. Reason being, he just tires the players out with his amazing defense and hard forehands.

That was a fantastic first set.

That tiebreaker was freaking amazing.

Puerta's trying to come back. Nadal is a friggin wall.

Will this be the 74th year in a row an unknown Spaniard/Argentine wins the French?

Holy crap, Puerta might tie this up at 2 sets apiece. He's got set pt.

That last set point hurt a LOT.

Nadal is not unknown, He is 4th seed and the hottest player on tour. I picked him to win from the beginning in my draft.

Too bad that diving shot didn't go over, great match though.

Federer is the best tennis player ever. It is no contest. No one will ever be better in our time.

i am very, very mad i missed this. I had been following Nadal throughout the entire tournament, he has greatly impressed me and i think he will be the next "big thing"

Nadal is very promising, but still not nearly the best. Though he played poorly against Nadal during their match in this tournament, Federer will continue to dominate professional tennis for a long while. Also, at one point I thought to myself, "At least Nadal has youth on his side." Then I remembered Federer is only 23.

Nadal took Federer to 5 sets on hard court, and beat him in 4 sets on clay.

Don't act like Federer is in a higher class than Nadal right now.

He is in a higher class, but not on clay.

On grass, Federer by a long shot.

On clay, Nadal by quite a bit.

On hard, Federer by a bit.

Indoors, Federer by a lot.

Overall, Federer by quite a bit still.

Nadal has said it's his main aspiration to won Wimbledon.

When he gets to Federer's age and loses some of that amazing defensive ability, I expect him to adapt to more of the Roddick/Federer like play of using a punishing forehand and coming to the net more.

Hopefully Nadal will blossom more and become a main rival to Federer since he basically has none. Before the semifinals, in the two matches Federer lost this year, he had match points in both. Pretty sick. Too bad the majority of this country won't care.
