In Mississippi 1906, a man named Thomas Winslow lost his riverboat to another man named Ken Stitson when he had an ace-high flush beat by a full house, I think it was queens over 8's but history is not positive about that.

Stitson then used the boat to have tours down the Mississippi river and the boat became a conversation piece. The boat was used for cards as well, and the full house name was eventually turned into the term "boat".

Because Johnny "Ace" Smith was playing in a hotel room game in Dallas, and someone switched his cigars for wacky backy. After a couple hours, "Ace" was a little under the influence, and thought that AKJT9 made a straight.

How much cocaine did Ginger have to do to blow through the jewelry that Ace had put into the bank after she left him?

And why hadn't she hocked the 3K in rare coins to buy more blow?

And where can I get a neon green suit like DeNiro wears during the Whip It scene.

Thank you, that is what I had heard, but wanted confirmation from a second (perhaps more reliable) source /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I always thought it was because if you look at it it looks like a boat. 3 of a kind on the bottom and the pair on top.

I found this definition particularly useful:

"Ace high flush! Pay up, bitch!"
"Not so fast, motherfucker! I've got the boat."

There is actually a neat little two pages at the end of Mr. Brunson's NL section in SS (1 and 2 i think) that just lists a bunch of names. Kinda neat IMO.

it comes from calling a full house a "full boat", then shortened to "boat" by some retards.
