I do quite well at limit holdem. I play 10-20 to 30-60 6 person to heads up, but what I am wondering is ther money to be made in no limit? Is it worth it to take time out and learn no limit, and go through the inital downswing for month while learning it... Or should I stick with the ole' sayin' if it ain't broken why fix it? and just it with limit

As far as I know, the average win rate of a good limit player is 2-3BB/100, while the average win rate of a good NL player is 10+PTBB/100. You be the judge.

Pretty sure this is not the case.

so what is the win rate of a good no limit player

For an above average NL player I'd say between 4 and 6 Big Bets (2x big blind), and for a good NL player I'd say between 6 and 8. 8-10BB/100 is definitely possible but is also definitely not what an average player makes. It would be comparable to a person making 3BB/100 in limit, not 2.

There is less variance in NL unless you play SH with superaggro players, and you generally play less hands in NL than in limit.

I know those BB/100 estimates are arbitrary, but are they for 4-tabling or 1-tabling or...?

They are per 100 hands. That is independent of the number of tables you have. I think you get about 50 hands per hour per table online? Not entirely sure.

4 tabling.

playing more tables could push your BB/100 down slightly because you are playing at less than full capacity for each table.

also, the blinds are smaller, relatively, in no limit. So the fact that you win more bb per 100 hands isnt saying that much. I do believe you make more at NL, but you need a measure of comparison for the variance and win rates between different levels of each game.

Stats are for Party: (I rarely play more than 1 table at a time and this is for 6 max)

Limit Hands BB/100
NL 400 1566 60.73
NL 600 579 42.07

Where's sample size man?
