The real average is probably even smaller. Because the study is voluntary, it is biased to select in men with larger than average penises.

Think about it - would you be more willing to get you dick measured if it was 4 inches or 8?

They actually tried to account for that. The best part is this number is about a half inch less than when people self measure. Kinsey's research was ground breaking but his methodogy was poor.
