Should I check this river and hope he bets so I can raise or is this a clear bet? If I bet I don't think he calls me with anything besides trips, because this guys was halfway intelligent. The fact that he paused on the river when I bet made me think that he had two pair. What do you guys do?

I am just gonna throw this out there. I am kinda confused to his holdings. Maybe a three flush with two babies? Maybe like 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 3 /images/graemlins/heart.gif or something like that. I mean when you raise with an A up wouldn't it be pretty bad for him to call with tens? And then you pair your door card, the only thing I think he should be calling with on 4th is the flush with three low cards. I dunno. I would check. Maybe he would figure you had less that you did and it would induce a bet. If you bet the river it shows him you aren't scared of his draw or whatnot. If you check, it feigns weakness. I have no idea what I am saying, which is what happens in most of my posts. I start with a coherent idea, and then I ramble like a madman. I check. Final Answer. I am probably wrong. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

If he wasnt going to call your river bet, I'd doubt he'd even have bet. Looks like he had a busted draw so it was only going to be fold or raise. I can't even see him calling with two pair here if thats what he ended up with.

Yeah, calling with two pair would be ballsy. What sucks is that is looks like you may have made a low too, making it less likely he would make a risky call for the high half.

what are you doing in the hand in the first place? That's the fundamental question.

oh---hi lo...lol...but why raise 3rd?

He has a playable hand with an Ace in the door. There is a Ten, a King, and the bring-in behind him. If you don't steal here, when do you steal?

I think you played it about right up until the river. If he's a decent player, his most likely hand is a flush draw, so you can really only expect to get called, and more likely raised, when you're beaten.

So I wasn't rambling! Well I was, but I had the right idea. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
