Little is known about UTG+1, other than his stats are 23/10/2.00 after 23 hands

I figured that the pot was large enough to justify seeing a turn, and if I "woke up," and the action slowed down, I might have the best hand. This was not the case, so I folded.

why did you check the flop?

I see no reason to check the flop. Check/raise maybe, was that what you were thinking? Anyhow, that drastically changes future action on the hand. The way you played it, however, the turn fold is very very correct.

Bet the flop and go from there. The queen isn't good, but it's better than seeing a king or an ace. If he raises you on the flop, I might check-fold the turn.

Donk betting (what you did on the turn), is becomming common enough that even a weaker player will know that it signifies a marginal hand. Think, would you have played AQ that way? No one would. The only reason I donk-bet is when I have a very strong hand and I want to be raised on the turn.

The problem is that betting out the flop doesn't protect my hand. Getting 11:1, anyone can call. My best bet is to try for a check-raise, but that failed, and now I cannot raise.

With 7 BB in the pot on the turn, betting out does protect, and if the action slows I have a better idea of whether I have the best hand.

giving them 11:1 odds is better than giving them infinite odds
