Canterbury $6-$12. Regular 2+2er (and a good friend of mine) posts behind the button. I raise UTG with T /images/graemlins/heart.gif9 /images/graemlins/heart.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

All fold to our DONK hero who calls. The BB calls.

The flop: K /images/graemlins/heart.gifJ /images/graemlins/heart.gif5 /images/graemlins/club.gif

BB checks, I bet, DONK raises, BB folds, I 3-bet, DONK calls.

The turn: 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

I check, DONK bets, I check-raise, DONK calls.

The river: 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I bet, DONK thinks ... DONK calls.

I say 10 high. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif DONK looks confused, but then turns over his monster K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif2 /images/graemlins/club.gif for the winner.

If it wasn't for his excellent kicker, I think I could have gotten him to lay down the hand. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I tell my buddy, the DONK hero, "Ni-hand". /images/graemlins/grin.gif

From what I can see, your 2+2 buddy was ahead the whole way. Maybe he has a read on you. Regardless, you were pretty lucky, your friend missed a bet on the turn.

Yes, my 2+2 buddy needs to do more studying, as he often misses many bets. But then, that is probably because he keeps playing hands like K2o in this manner.

FWIW:
Pre-Flop Flop
Th 9h 48.93 48.28
Kd 2c 50.37 51.72

So he was ahead of you the whole way. nh

Not much to get per se. I threatened my buddy that I was going to post this hand last night during the game. I teased him because he knows that normally, I am a very tight player. I raised UTG pre-flop, I 3-bet him on the flop (so likely his K is no good with only a 2 kicker), I check-raised him on the turn further emphasizing he was behind.

I just gave him a hard time for playing his weeny of a hand like he did.

I posted the stats only to correct him from his comment last night that he was "way-ahead" in the hand.

Not quite accurate. Please understand that this hand, and the posting of it, was mostly tongue-in-cheek to rib him.

Okay, I gotta say, Any2 raiseed UTG, which I've seen him do with only monster hands. The possibility he was playing 9Ts never entered my mind. I was about 95% sure I had lost the hand, and given my read on Any2, this was a terrible call on my part, both turn and river. Nonetheless, it was sweet calling with top pair-no kicker and being g000t.
