Are they worth the price and the size?

do you actually use the internet function on it, or is it a novelty that quickly wears off?

any comments about it would be great as I am going later today to get a new phone and plan, and the sidekick is an option I am entertaining.

thanks,

I go to RIT which shares most of its facilities with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Almost all the deaf kids have one for IMing each other, sortof like their version of a cell phone. They definitely work well, but I couldn't see myself using one; a regular phone is all I need.

It was cool for about 5 seconds then I started to have problems with the service via TMobile.

IM feature was sporadic, it would be instant one second, not send a IM for 5 minutes the next.

The actual cell phone was a piece of crap for talking on, the camera isn't that good.

I live in a major metro area so the service should have been top notch, it wasn't.

Overall I give it a 2 out of 5 stars, it looks cool and it was pretty nice when it was working, though the acutual use as a phone was not great even with great signal.

I returned mine before the 14-day return, went back to Sprint and got a Treo 650 which I love, not as much of a wow factor on looks an neatness, but it works about 10x better for me at least.

take upskirt shots with the camera part of it and post them on here. Just don't let anyone catch you.

You're the reason my phone has a shutter sound I can't turn off....

Isn't this a felony now as well?

If you have TMobile already, the service you should expect will be on the same level as what you already get. If you don't get a great signal now then you won't get one with the Sidekick.

I have one and I absolutely love it. It depends on your lifestyle though. I'm always out at loud clubs or bars trying talk to people and organize things, and the Sidekick is great for txting. I use it to check my email all the time and I do use the internet pretty often. Mostly I use the internet at a 411/mobile Mapquest but a lot of my internet use comes while I'm taking a dump in a strange place and have nothing to read.

Try a treo 650 before buying a sidekick.
