Thanks to those who suggested Firefox/Mozilla.
This thing is much better than IE6, imho.
The tabbed browsing is freaking AWESOME.
Also, much thanks to wacki for providing the links to the extensions.

Ugh... no.
1) it is fixed in later patches/versions
2) goto about:config to disable the hole
search the archives for more info.

Switchproxy is great for me - instead of going all into the preference settings when I bring the laptop home, it's a one-step selection from a drop-down on the toolbar.

cut and pasted from previous thread....
Spellbound spell checker (http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/). Once installed, you can right click on text field or area and check your spelling.
DictionarySearch (http://dictionarysearch.mozdev.org/). Once installed, you can right click a word and open definition in a new tab.
Grease Monkey (http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/) allows you to use scripts that can change or enhance the behavior of Web sites. I wrote one that automatically cleans long URLs at 2+2 (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Number=1784880) to keep them from messing with horizontal layout of the page.
Mouse Gestures: Let's you do a bunch of browser functions by right clicking and moving your mouse. Pretty much rules.
ChatZilla: IRC thing.
ForecastFox: Keeps weather forcasts on the bottom of the browser.
FoxyTunes: Controls any audio player w/ buttons on the buttom of the browser.
Tabbrowser Preferences 1.1.1: Always opens links in new tabs and a few other useful things.
Adblock: Can block the Flash banners that the built in one can't.

As opposed to the ones in IE?
Firefox is awesome. Mouse Guestures and Adblock are probably the 2 best extensions, I pretty much cannot live without either.
And tabbed browsing is nice, today I had 10 tabs open for some reasearch I was doing.. and then firefox crashed on me. oops. This Linux version has a huge problem with Flash right now.

I just improved this (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Number=2554178) to also rescale images that may scroll past the right hand side.
You will need Grease Monkey 0.3 or higher to use it.

Sweet. I will have to find it. I need to either get the flash block extension or kill the flash plugin and I think it would fix it anyway.

If only they could get it so you could save groups of tabs like in Maxthon and the ability to set a tab to auto refresh for an interval. Then I'd switch.

Open up all the tabs you want. Then hit ctrl+d. click "bookmark all tabs in a folder." go to that folder. "open all in tabs."
