This is a Party 33, 7 players left with blinds at 200/100. I have 2000 chips and and am UTG with AJo. I have exactly 10BB, but I really don't like the idea of open pushing here with this hand.

1 orbit later, I'm UTG+1 with KJo. This time I have 1700 chips and blinds and player count are still the same.

Was this question too newb, too boring, or too hard?

Is this a trick question?

(You didn't ask a question in the first place.)

AJo is pretty damn good. I'd push there. KJo is much worse than AJo. I'd fold.

Push the AJ

Fold the KJ

So that sinking feeling in my stomach when I folded AJ meant that I should have pushed it? I just couldn't get myself to push that UTG with so many people after me, especially since I had 1/4 of the total chips. Maybe that's all the more reason why I should have pushed.

7 handed I push. 9 handed I don't.

What's the minimum hand you are pushing from UTG with 7-handed? Assuming you have 2000 chips and that's 10BBs (800 starting, not 1000).

For me, it's TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AK

And I just want to point out that I believe that 10X BB is a psychological barrier that causes many "panic" moves.

With 7 people still left, you probably have more of a chance to make your move than you think....
