By the way you are supposed to comment on it. Methinks Ace high calls here right? Was planning to overbet river like a good little fishy.

So you're trying to get a call to set up a river bluff? Not terrible, but is it really worh the extra $1 when a raise to $3/$4 can at least tell you where you are at? The problem here is that any 9 might just call to try to get river action.

Is it just me, but fold pre-flop.

I thought it was suited. 48o is an easy fold.

i think the turn raise was too low. I'm guessing the guy has a high card, and i think more often than not he'll call that, and you lose that hand. unless you have a read on him saying he'll call that bet and fold it away on the river, i either bet more or fold.

I don't think I would even waste the money to call this preflop. But, now that you are in the hand, and have nothing you are going to need to make a play like you did on the hand. I don't think your raise is enough to give you any information on the other guys hand, I would bring it up more, and then follow through with another significant bet on the river, depending on what card falls.

I guess you can try this move once in a while against observant opponents. It's not a total waste even if your bluff fails. If someone calls your river overbet, I'm sure you'll get plenty of action in the future when you overbet with a monster.

No way, this table was wonderful.

Everyone folded to the raiser, and then he folded. I was just planning to set him up, but the mini-bet looks so strong here since the board is so scary, he probably had high card jack or something like that.
