I have not been there, but I have been told that Atlantis (assuming you mean the one in the Bahamas) DOES NOT have poker. A friend of mine went down there stag (preplanned trip after a break up) hoping to play lots of poker and was very disappointed. My understanding is that they got special permission for the WPT event from the government... can someone else confirm or deny?

Unless they have recently added poker in the last few months, this is a lie. They did NOT have poker before the WPT got there.

A lie? Give me a break. They most certainly did have a WPT event there. I could be mistaken about them having poker on a regular basis because I didnt go there to play. But either way, its not a lie.

Poker is not approved by the Gaming Commision in the Bahamas, thus no poker in Atlantis. Yes, the PokerStars WPT event was there and there was an exclusion from the GC for this event and side-games to be held during that time.

I was there after the WPT event and they had no poker. I was told there was no poker at any of the other casinos either.

i was there for WPT, don't think they have poker normally, not a poker type place. make sure you go to the beach while you are there and buy cocunut rum from the guy on the beach who goes around making them.

for some reason, this strikes me as a dirty prank of some sort.

The posts confirming there is no regular poker are correct. In true Bahamian fashion they staged a televised poker event from Atlantis, suckered a lot of people into believing "well then, I'm going to go there to play poker," and then offer nothing. As well as keeping the overrated crappy islands free of hold'em, the Bahamian government has also created an exceptional safe haven for drug criminals, money laundering, conflict diamond exchange and many other activities that good, poker-playing nations would abhore. If you're a career corporate criminal with a trunk full of cash from your latest fraud, move there. Just don't expect to be allowed to play poker.
