Ok, third hand played, sat at the table for an orbit before I started. Haven't seen Villan get out of line. The table as a whole appears to be prone to steal attempts.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (7 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T/images/graemlins/heart.gif, T/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. MP1 posts a blind of $2.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP1 (poster) checks, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, BB calls, MP1 folds.

Standard.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/spade.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB calls.

Since I was PFR I bet out. When Villan raised I thought, "flush draw," and decided to charge him for it.

Turn: (5.75 BB) 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls.

Uh-oh. Throw a bet out there to see if he's for real.

River: (7.75 BB) 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, Hero ?

Whoo-hoo! He didn't raise me on the turn, so I figure I'm out of flush territory, but what's this all about? Now I must be in trouble. But, it's a pretty big pot, and I have to call, right?

Hero calls and expects to see QJ or some other jackass hand.

I think you played the hand fine.

He could have J9, JT, or 89, or be making a play at the pot.

I call and curse.

Would you raise if the river was something like a 5 or A? I'm quite certain I would.

Damn, you're good. J/images/graemlins/club.gif9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. I actually threw up in my mouth and called, then had to gargle before I could start laughing.

This is an extremely easy call. I'd rather raise and fold to a 3-bet than fold. I'm not saying you should raise. I'm just making a point that folding here would be bad.

I'm not sure I'd have the moxee to pull the trigger here.

Sarge,

I think calling is much better than raising. But getting the odds he is and considering any two pair will very likely bet out on this river I do think folding is that bad here. And I posted that before reading his post with the results. But just to clarify I'm not saying he should raise.
