HH--Bubble Play w/Chip Lead

$11 SNG. Ok. Here is a situation that I talked about in an earlier post. I'm uncertain how aggressive someone should be w/the chip lead entering the bubble. I did not do this correctly, so I need help identifying spots to steal and push people around. I hope for others to learn from my mistakes.

whats with all the varied raises just raise to 3x. no need for more than that on a steal. they arent going over the top with junk they just got a hand. they arent folding at because you went 4x. you just waste money the time they get a hand

eh i dno about this... the other big stack is on BB. thats really all you have to worry about. i might go 600 here and will fold if CL pushes. i dno hes only calling with better when you push and i doubt he will make a play here with nothing. might also get a call from the short stack. i dno can any1 else comment? i think its close, but i probably go 600

Thanks. Anyone else want to take a shot? Do other people agree or disagree with the advice to raise 3xbb instead of pushing it all? Does that protect me from times when the 2nd stack, especially early in the HH when the chip stacks were close, wakes up with a monster?

Honestly, you don't gotta be stealing a lot at this point. You've got a really big stack, so you're set. For example, the T8o SB hand where you raise. Just pass on it. You don't need the pot at all, and you save some FE for later levels. Then when BB pushes you're folding? You're getting 2-1 on what are almost surely live cards, and even if you double the guy up, you're still in strong contention.

I didn't watch all of it (couple multis just started up), but that's my initial reaction. One of the things I learned here that helped my game the most was PVS saying that he just tries to get to level 5 with 1200 chips. When I first started playing, I'd be trying to steal a lot of blinds in levels 3 and 4, but lose a ton of FE in later rounds. Once I read that and tried to apply it to my game, I started doing a lot better.

The point of stealing, as I understand it, is to force your opponent to make a decision for his stack. When you make a standard raise, you allow him to play back at you, which is what you don't want. I only suggest stealing when either you or your opponent has fewer than 10 BB remaining. If you do this, you'll pass on a number of earlier steals, which preserves FE, but also allows you to steal when the chips make a significant difference to your and/or your opponent's stack.

The raise to 400 with AQ was fine because you were going to call a push anyway. I probably just make my standard raise to 300.

The raise to 425 with T8 was bad, and you should've called the push getting 2:1 (which is why the original bet was bad). I will typically fold here as a gesture of good will. I do not plan on being this generous on levels 5+ (this was the last hand of level 4).

Pushing AJ, calling 99, pushing A8....all standard.

You could argue for pushing the Q9 to isolate against the shortstack with good pot odds, but I think your stack is a bit too short. I would've folded too. Calling is horrible. With 2000+, it's definately a push though.

I probably push 44 with the shortstack in BB.

I definately push the K9 from SB.

All in all, not too bad.
