I hadn't played a hand yet, but figured the donks at this table would call regardless.

Is this weak tight?

I just mucked 55 UTG same game, with T3k chips.

I WON'T PUSH, AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME! HAHAHAHA!

Bad advice alert.

Fold it preflop - even i like this fold and im one of the least weak-tight players on this board.

Your UTG, and there are still a lot of players left to act (i can only see that donks post of push it, but from memory it was at least 7 handed). Furthermor the blinds are 25/50, and with your 700 and change your not in bad shape. Even if the blinds were goind up next hand, making it a push does next to nothing for you, other than putting you right out there.

You will find a better chance.

I'd limp.

I take it that people don't think this is a good move.

ok so your options here are call raise and fold

call- you have 730 chips, calling 50 of them basically hoping for a set is not a good play, you probably won't hit your set and the chances that at least one overcard hits the flop is very high..

raise - you don't have enough chips to put in a good raise

fold - you have a healthy enough stack to have folding equity for the next couple of orbits, so you should just wait for a better spot to get some chips

if you are called on a push, you will either be a slight favorite or a heavy underdog (small chacne a lower ppair might call)

The trouble with limping UTG is not that its a bad move in isolation of the other players, its that they can make a raise and [censored] you up because of it - your either calling off more chips to try and find that set, or your waving goodbye to those 50 chips.

Limping EP was a pretty big leak for me till not too long ago - the risk reward scales are tipped to far in the wrong direction.

Well, here is what I was thinking.

I have 730, and a limp would bring me down to under 600. Stenchy.

If I get raised, it's push or fold time, and I'd rather not go to the river with 99.

Bad poker?

I push this here everytime, it's been working for me.

I don't think it's bad advice. 99 is a very strong hand.

That's surprising to me. I mean, your hope is that everyone folds, so at best, I am picking up the blinds.

Seems like a whole lot of risk for very little reward.

Compare the 99 hand to this one, from the same tournament:

I think this is a much better place to push, but I am open to other opinions.

I first said limp but I didn't see that the blinds were 25/50. So I'll agree with Phill and say fold as well. with 5 or less opponents I'm raising 3xBB.

The 2nd hand..

I agree. Obviously you got to like this play more because there's more money in the pot to begin with. Thus the risk/reward is a little more in your favor. Also, I think the chances of somebody slowplaying are fairly low. The reason why I say this, andIt may just be me but I see a lot of people slowplaying pre-flop in the very early and later rounds of the tournament, but not so much in the middle. So you large amount of agression, coupled with your tight play so far in the tournament, should scare off any opponent without a monster.

I very often limp, and then I see who raises and where. Donkey? Cool, I can push now.

I've never folded 99 UTG. It's kinda close enough to where I can almost see it and I know other people do, but I don't like it personally. Plus, hey, if you limp and then some other people limp you can flop quads. I like quads.
