Cool, how bout something like:

# of people competing/# of people sidebetting = # of horses for each bettor

Then, we can round robin choices (or choose otherwise) and do an LL from there.

We probably need to do a cutoff of around midnight tonight or something, and someone can handle the $ on stars (maybe $20-$50?).

Maybe everyone submits there top 5, and most combined money winner wins it all? 20$? Anyone want to run collect? I will if no one else does it. Let me know if this works for people, and we can set it up.

that's kinda weak because almost everyone will have the same list. could always do a snake draft? i'm in either way, just let me know how much and how we're doing it

That makes sense to me. How to deal with contention/duplicates though? It's probably easier to ensure unique selections in some way (also, I don't know some of the folks either).

Yeah, but snake draft requires everyone to be available at the same time, and has its own problems. Plus if everyone has the same 5, it will be +EV to have a different 5.

How about this:

You rank rank players from 1-5.
You get points according to
(money earned by your #1) X 2
(#2) X 1.75
3 X 1.5
4 X 1.25
5 X 1

Thi should give us enough variance to limit multiple winners. thoughts?

Very possible, we will all have 0 points afterwards with such a huge field expected. We can award a winner as follows:

If no one makes the money from 2+2. Then whoever lasts the longest will decide the winner. Whoever has that player ranked highest will win. In event of a tie, it will move to 2nd highest finisher, and down the list.

More importantly, we need the real names of all of these guys, if anyone knows.

Also, who wants to control the $$. I will, but I am happy to let someone else.
