I see these turbo tourneys where the blinds go up every 3 minutes. I have "earned" a ticket to one of these and I was wondering what strategies are most effective for this format.

That is the answer I didn't expect, with the blinds increasing so fast, I thought the opposite, be ultra aggressive. Any other thoughts?
Thanks for the answer BTW.

the stalling comes in around the bubble, down to the final table, and makes these things incredibly tedious to play, god knows why they don't just give everyone 10 seconds to act for these.

Anyway, early on I'd say look to double up at every opportunity. Don't be afraid to push preflop with premium hands, or on the flop with 2 pair or better. You will get calls from lesser hands and draws.

My strategy during turbos is to tighten up my starting hand requirements considerably, and to try to get allin with my AK, AQ, AJs, ATs and all pocket pairs down to 88. You need to double up every 15-20 minutes or so. Don't be afraid to flame out quickly. If you can get to about 4x the original chip stack around the break, you can start to try to make some plays. You virtually cannot bluff in a turbo though. A lot of times, people will call you with any piece just trying to survive/double.
