Joking aside, most girls have, many do it more often than guys would think, but its definitely more likely to find a girl who's never done it than a guy. Did she say she never tried?

Just in regards to frequency. I've had girls tell me they've tried it, but felt weird about it for whatever reason, and didn't do it again. Then there're some who'll readily admit to doing it once or twice a week if they don't have a boyfriend.

Most women learn how to get off in their early twenties whereas men learn in their early teens.

She is my age (24) but I know lots of other girls our age who claim to do it or at least to have done it at some point in the past. I actually don't think she's lying, just that it's weird that she's never even tried it once.

The girls that claim they never have are more then likely full of it. They are probably too embarrased to share this with anyone. In their 20's most likely have tried it at least once.

i'm talking out of my ass here, but i think i read somewhere that 2/3 of all females masturbate on a semi-regular to regular basis (however you want to define regular) and at least 4/5 try at least once by the time they reach 25. the numbers may be a bit off but its not far from the truth.
