are online Poker sites being extorted?

all these posts tonight about sites locking up reminded me of this story (referenced from Slashdot a month ago) -

I remember reading of one that I thought involved Bodog, which definately has poker ties as well.

I wonder if as the WSOP gets underway, online extortionists are demanding money from poker sites who are about to run a last minute glut of WSOP seat giveaways/promotions. And of course, they're threatening with DDOS attacks which are taking down selective sites.

Interesting article. I'd wager 1000 quatloos that this Barrett Lyons guy was really the mastermind behind all attacks.
