Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

UTG ($54.85)
MP ($27.85)
Hero ($47.3)
Button ($46.6)
SB ($77.74)
BB ($52.65)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/club.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.5</font>, Button calls $1.50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $3.5</font>, Hero calls $2.50.

Not many hands on the villains (10 for the BB, 24 for the button) so hard to get reads.

Normally calling the $4 flat with the 9s would have been borderline.
Now, with the re-raise I have factors that weigh each way.

On the negative side:
1. He probably has a bigger pair than I do or a good drawing hand.
2. There is still one player to act behind me.

On the positive side:

1. It is only $2.5 now to enter the pot that already has a some good money in it.

2. I have a chance to stack of 2 opponents!

So, was the call correct?

Easy call I think. You have position, information and a hand that can easily stack him if you hit. Not to mention the button.

I think it is so long as you're calling for set value, and if villain will go all the way with AA / KK.
That the button will likely call and may make a decent hand against your potential set doesn't hurt either.

I do this all the time if I've got the position and am expecting multi-way. I love busting guys who refuse to lay down AA/KK when I flop a set. Since these guys will pay you off, the implied odds make this play profitable.
