33sng – I checked before the flop, because I felt the villain was pot committed and would call any raise the vast majority of the time. Was this the proper play? I planned on pushing on the flop if I caught a piece, which I did. If I’d of missed the flop, I would have gone into check/fold mode unless I caught something on the turn or river, then I’d push.

I'd be much more likely to push this flop if an Ace hadn't flopped.

Really...was going to say the opposite actually...maybe I am wrong, but at 200 blinds many will raise PF with most Aces...Therefore having 2nd pair on an A high flop seems very likely the best hand...and even if it wasnt (TT, which would also raise) the A would scare THEM off.

I like this move a lot.

If you have an ace, would you push? No? Then why are you expecting this to be at all scary to a reasonable, thinking player*?

*of course, that means this works against most donkeys
