I'd imagine it'd be useful for identifying the hole cards in the WPT and WSOP. Sometimes the hole cam misses.

First off, really cool link.

However, maybe you missed the point where it takes them 14 minutes to do this. They also appear to be doing it under fairly pristine conditions; in real life, with light sources coming from all over the place and all kinds of stuff moving around, I can't really see this technique working particularly well. It's interesting as a proof of principle, though.
