View Full Version : actors you will see in any movie they are in

Pocket Trips

What actors will you watch a movie you may not necessarily be drawn to normally just because they are in the movie? and what movies did you watch that you would not have otherwise?

I will watch any movie Johnny Depp is in because I think he is an amazing actor who is very picky in his role selection and can't remember a bad movie he was in. Hell he even got me to watch Chocolat which was excellent but never would've watched w/o him in it.

I do however, fear this may be coming to an end woith Charlie and the chocolate factory. I hope he does not decide to take every kid's movie that comes along now just because of the success of Pirates.

A much lesser known actor that I go out of my way to see movies he is in is John Turturro. I honestly cannot think of him being in a bad movie. and he has had many small roles in movies I consider classics.

one actor who is still my favorite of all time but is no longer on my must see list is De Niro thanks to Godsend and that other piece of crap he did with Dakota fanning... 21 of the worst movies I have seenin the past 2 years

Not only was that movie bad but its sad to se a 10 y/o girl act circles around De Niro

Pay if Forward, KPAX, and The Life of David Gale. I almost saw The Shipping News, but luckily I'm too damn lazy.

I still find him entertaining, even in crappy movies.

I was in the front row at UCSB's Campbell Hall to see him in 2000ish.

Any time he does a movie cameo, it greatly coolifies the film.

Lost Highway is a good example of a cool movie made cooler.

The Chase is a good example of a so-so movie made above average.

edit: Campbell Hall, not the Thunderdome.

No. It just struck me as such an eclectic mix. Norton is such a chameleon. Reeves is the opposite. Tom Green...I guess you think he's funny. I don't happen to, but to each his own. The only one I really don't get is Furlong. What do you like about a whiney little kid that sounds as if he's reading cue cards when he tries to act?

I finally saw sideways last week. I was severly disappointed. If you are not a wine snob I really don't see what was so funny about this movie. Not once did i break out in laughter while watching it and only once or twice did I crack a smile.

In fact I think the last good one he did was meet the parents /images/graemlins/confused.gif

12 pages of names and no Nicholas Cage yet? Not everything he's done is great, but he usually has some interesting quirks to add to each of his characters. I'll usually watch any movie he's in.

Ugh, you picked the wrong black actor. Sam Jackson is one of the least selective actors ever. Sure, he's made some real gems but also a tremendous amount of crap. Laurence Fishbourne on the other hand, is all money.

I'm really surprised it took as long as did for Sean Penn to get mentioned. He's definitely one of the greatest. Mystic River, 21 Grams, Assassination of Richard Nixon, I Am Sam, Dead Man Walking. All great movies IMHO. DeNiro and Pacino are up there too.

I honestly like him too. I thought he was an awful actor a few years ago (that irish accent he did in "The Devil's Own" /images/graemlins/tongue.gif), but he seems like he's actually gotten much better. And he mostly picks good scripts.

I like Morgan Freeman a lot but he doesn't seem to be able to turn an idea down - I'm thinking about that one about robbery and beaches and a guy and a girl, I forget what it's called but it stook out in my mind (when I saw the commercial) that Morgan Freeman didn't belong in the movie. Gotta love him, though.
