Flop: (9 SB) 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)

Hero checks, MP1 checks.

River: (6.50 BB) 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 checks.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

How did I play this hand? On the flop I thought he had a small pair like 55 or 44 or something of that nature, so I called the flop planning on check raising the turn. Then when I checked the turn and he checked behind I thought he had hearts with overcards. Then when the river was a heart I checked with the intention of folding to a bet. Thoughts?

Thereis no excuse for playing this hand preflop

agreed. your hand sucks before the flop, don't play it.

postflop i would bet the river. you have an easy fold if he raises and you're getting all kinds of calls from K high and A high.

You don't play 24s when you have 2/3rd's of a bet allready in and there's 4 players in the hand and likely to be a 5th? I might have misinterpreted a previous post but I thought I read somewhere that calling with 73s from the BB vs a raiser and another player was correct. It's 5 more dollars to me since im in the SB opposed to the BB and theres 1 or 2 more players. Is this wrong?

Raised. You're gonna call a raise with 24? Sooted or not, cmon, its bad poker. Your raw odds to win the hand MAY support the call, but A. You're not closing the action, how would a cap feel from a LRR'r and B. YOU CAN'T PLAY THAT CRAP HAND OOP TO ANY NUMBER OF PLAYERS. It's gonna cost you a lot. Even if you flop ahead, you're gonna be easy to catch.

I don't know what to say other than this is a pretty nasty PF call and I hope you lost the hand (though you prolly didn't based on your wording) so that you could learn yourself a little lesson.

And by the way, a river bet there is insanely basic. How are your results at 15/30?

The problem here is that even if you make 2 pair, you are so easily counterfeited it is absurd.

How is the river bet insanely basic? I'm ahead of ace high here, and of missed draws. Does an ace high limp in from MP after 1 limper normally? Does ace high normally raise the flop in a 4 handed pot without a draw after I've bet out representing some kind of a hand? After he raises the flop and then checks the turn, and the draw gets there, the bet is still insanely basic? What do you think he has?
