Not very sure about hand 1, but hand 2 you should definitely be betting the size of the pot on the turn.

The call on the river is correct though.

Hand 1: Standard.

Hand 2: Call the flop and bet the turn if checked to.

hand 1 is standard...
hand 2 not sure about calling the flop bet. I thought the raise was a good idea, it push's others out of the hand also with top pair that is not that strong in this hand, if there was a re-raise on the flop one can fold easy.
Also with straight possibilites since this pot was not raised preflop, this raise prevents others from seeing a cheap turn card.

Hand 1: Standard.

Hand 2: No one's commented on the preflop play, but I don't link the open-limp from CO. If you're going to play this hand, raise 3xBB. You might take it down preflop (of course at this stage you don't really need to be stealing), but it's also more likely that you'll buy the button and the flop will be checked to you. As it is, you've just asked the BB, who's got a decent stack, to take a stab at the pot, and so you don't really have any idea where he is at.

I don't see much wrong with limping here. Your argument applies for limping with QQ or something, but you can't really "crack" or "outdraw" JTs preflop.

I agree. The reason to raise isn't to protect what is probably the best hand. But if I'm playing this hand, I'd raise to take control of the hand. As the hand was played, OP flopped top pair with avg kicker, has been bet into and has a player left to act behind him. This is a tough situation that I think would have been avoided with a preflop raise.

With the blinds as low as they are, I'd likely just fold this hand preflop. Of course if there were already limpers in the pot, I'd be happy to limp as well. I just can't think of any hand where I'd open-limp from the CO, I'm either raising or folding. Is this wrong?

Hand 1: Standard
Hand 2: I don't limp here at lvl 2. J10s is a speculative hand that can cost you a lot of money if you catch a flush or straight draw. And in a tourney I don't want to be short stacked because i chased a flush. Even limping for 30 is like putting in 3xBB in a cash game.
