I think i want to bet on the patriots this weekend, but i've never bet on football before. I don't know what the spread is, i don't know where to place the bet, or if it's even a good game to bet on.

any advice?

There are three places that you can bet on this game: Las Vegas, an offshore sportsbook, or a local bookie. If you need advice on some good sportsbooks I would not ask on this forum, because that question is asked once a week at least. You can private message me and i will let you know of some good ones or check out http://www.prescription.com. The line on this game is anywhere from 3.5 - 4 in favor of the pats. I think your bet is a good one (of course i don't know the reasoning behind it). It is tough to say whether it is a good game to bet on, because it depends how much value you see on this line. If for some reason the line drops to 3, I would take it. Once again, you can private message me with any questions.

hope this helps,

The Pats are favored because of what they did to the Jets in the first game......But that was with Testaverde....with Pennington the jets are a different team and are playing for their playoff lives....This will be a close tough game the whole way so i would probaly bet the Jets.

They were also fighting for their playoff lives last week vs the Bears. I had the pleasure of watching them bungle their way through that one. Thank God I didn't put the BIG bet on it that I was going to before leaving for the game. The Jets appeared to have already packed it in with thoughts of home and fami;ly dancing through their heads.

Lay the points, take the Pats and tip the dancers at the gentlemans club well for me with your winnings. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
