I made this journey. It's fun and frustrating. Good luck.

P.S.: It helps to be a fish on a hot streak.

I tried to leave you a comment but I couldn't because I don't have an account there.

I do agree that SnG's are the devil, and that no matter how much I try I can't consistantly beat them.

I do have one MTT win to my credit though, if not that, who knows how deep the red would be.

Maybe we should try those new Stars $1 MTT SnG.

Limit is all I'm good at, when I play NL with my friends live, I just suck so bad because I get so bored. Waiting around for any hand.

Multitabling limit = always (usually) a hand to play. I've moved from .50/1.00 to 1/2 and 2/4. I usually play both 1/2 or 2/4 depending on the bonus I'm trying to clear and how much I want to gamble for the night. Good luck making it to 15/30, I couldn't handle the $$$ value of the swings. I get pissed when I'm down $50 playing 2/4 and thats only about 12 BB.

How does someone who plays .5/1 get 2300 posts on a poker forum?!

I'd say try playing 4 nights a week for a longer amount of time. You aren't going to want to spend every night of your last summer before college infront of your computer playing poker.

OOT, hehe /images/graemlins/grin.gif

And I did take a shot a 2/4 around March'ish, but I got killed. Wrong timing and mental approach.

And I'll allow anonymous comments!

Hey ClaytonN,

I have started a similar journey. Here is how I have decided to do it. I deposited $500 and will begin by playing .50/1 (500 big bets for all you math whizzes). My goal is to earn 500 bets at each level before moving up. Outlined below is my goal...
.50/1 $500-1000
1/2 1000-2000
2/4 2000-4000
3/6 4000-7000
5/10 7000-12000
10/20 12000-22000
15/30 22000-37000

I feel that this is a very conservative approach may be harder to do when I get to higher levels. Any suggestions on how I should alter this???

I started a few days ago and since then have made 38 big bets in just under 3 hours of play at the .50/1 level.

Should I incorporate some 6 max in my play...suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Incoorporating 6-max play is a matter of preference.

It's gonna take a while for you, because 500BB is a conservative approach for sure.

at what point are you moving up???

Originally i was going for 300 big bets, but upped it to 500. I may go back down...

what level are you at?

ClaytonN

My computer just came in this afternoon, so I'm at .5/1 ATM

Moving up every 300BB until I get past 3/6, at which point I'll dedicate time to 6-max at 3/6. It's all in my blog...

Do they offer rakeback @ party???....I don't think so...maybe i need to rethink my strategy in that respect.

Party does not offer Rakeback anymore.

I have rakeback on Empire, but I'm hearing through the grapevine that Eurobet is better for rakeback for a few reasons, namely bonuses don't cut into rakeback profits.

I can tell you did your research...

Yes, it must be a new account. Check out the 2+2 classifieds. You don't sign up for RB thru the site itself, but through an affiliate.

A more aggressive strategy would have an overall much greater return.

You go boy! Think of all the iPod minis you could buy on eBay if you made it to 15/30; at least $1750 worth for sure!

G'luck with this. I will stay tuned. I always wanted to do this, but I just got caught up at being at one limit for too long and grinding.

Cheers

Heh, thanks, though the old blog is gone.

I'll be writing a new one solely for 2+2 in a little while.

I made about 1.5k this summer but could have made a lot more. I got chicken when I hit 2.5k.
