SB has been relatively passive in the couple orbits that I've been at the table. I've never been quite sure how to play monotone flop so any help is appreciated.

what if SB bets the river, do we fold?

I play it the same way. If SB has flush and is going for a checkraise you saved the bet. If SB bets at river I probably call.

That was my thinking on the river. I wasn't sure about calling if he bet though. Yeah, don't fold top pair for one big bet, but with this board, I'm not sure if I'm good frequently enough to warrant a call. I think there's still the possibility of AK-AJ being out there also. With that, I became a little more worried if SB bet the river.

We are both new and hopefully our thinking is correct. I'm sure some of the Pooh-Bahs will chime in soon and let us know.

I'd call a river bet. You need to be good a little over 10% of the time to justify a call.

This old hand agrees with your play. I would expect a good flush to try for a check/raise there, and a crappy one to check/call, but that's for typical players. I'd expect really good and really bad players to just bet out. I think I'd call a river bet here from a good player or a tricky player, but against a guy who's so passive you're wondering if he's still conscious, you could perhaps fold.

Thanks...I am trying to reduce the number of times I lose showdowns. It seems that anything less than 2 pair should be folded most times. Unless I am misreading the PT stats, I lose the most money with one pair. I even am -BB/100 on AA wired.

Hoping I can plug these huge leaks soon .
