Online 30 60.

Hero has A8 of clubs in the BB. We are six handed.

Solid UTG raises. Hijack and cutoff fold. Button cold calls. SB folds. Hero calls.

Flop is AQ9 with two diamonds and a heart. Hero checks. UTG bets. Both call.

I feel like these spots, especially in short handed situations early in the morning online, are hugely influenced by the flow of the game (he says, while getting called down by a king high after getting two pair counterfeited).

I cant say fold without more information (given the passive line on the flop), and I like raising instead of calling.

Theory is all well and good, but when it comes to short handed online situations, my action is gonna have a lot more to do with the flow of aggression and aces around the table than what sklansy and the gurus say about playing with half rational opponents in a vacuum.
