Make it $1.50 pre-flop. After that, it looks fine.

Is $1.5 a standard pf raise at this limit?

4x blinds = 1, two limpers = .50

So yeah, sure 1.50 is fine. I personally think that 1 is fine too.

Bet more on flop and turn though !
Generally I think this was well played.

If I'm button with five limpers, would you raise
4x blinds = 1, five limpers = 1.25?

i think checking the turn is better here.

it allows you to keep the pot small while only holding TPTK. i call a decent bet on the river or value bet if checked to.

i think this allows you to win a decent amount when ahead while also losing the least when behind. I think betting the turn lets villain off too easy as he/she will fold many hands that might pay off on the river if you check behind on the turn (i.e. PP<JJ). If villain is on a hand like 99, he might not give you credit for a made hand on the flop, putting you on a continuation bet with AK. Now when the Q turns, you make a hand, and can check behind ... now hopefully villain will bet the river/call a bet from you on the river not sure of whether you made a hand (or are making a stab at the pot with missed overs.)

conversely, checking the turn, keeps the pot under control with only TPTK. villain could have hit a set on the flop and may be looking to C/R the turn (obv, not in this case) .. since you've made a hand that you probably want to show down now - I'd try to get to showdown fairly cheap ... and thus check behind on the turn.

after posting, i see that others thought that betting the turn as you did was fine ... hopefully they can address my reasons for checking behind

After being checked to on the river, I'm value betting every time, atleast a 1/2 sized pot bet.

I like your turn bet on that draw heavy board. He doesn't have you on A/Q here, since you bet that jack high flop.

Villian showed a pair of 8's, for the set. At least I think he played it worse than me.

Bet a bit more on the flop and turn (and a bit more preflop too). If villain is a calling station, value bet the river. If he's not, checking behind is good.

check behind on the turn and bet 3/4-4/5 on the river when checked to, or call a smallish-med river bet as your turn check may induce a bluff.

if villain is drawing on the flop he already go there on the turn, so you don't need to worry so much about charging him. this allows you to protect yourself against a set/straight/QJ but still grab some value from AJ and KJ who will probably call on the river if you check the turn.

also, do you always bet around half the pot? i think you need to get into the habit of betting bigger fractions.

I know I have to bet more in a lot of situations, I am working on it. But thanks for pointing it out.
