is 40% plus sustainable long term? am i wildly ambitious/unambitious?

i havent really been tracking my sng results (i know, i know) until recently but in a discussion with a friend at a live game he told me his ITM was 40% + over the last year (cant remember the sample size).

i seem to recall someone stating here that this kind of ITM % was unsustainable long term - or was i dreaming?

cheers
Stephen

A 40% ITM is sustainable at the lower levels. I think you are remembering ROI. A 40% ROI is not sustainable.

Of course I'm just a rookie, I could be wrong.

I've singled the $11s at about a 20% ROI & my firsts are awful right now, so I would say a around a 25-30% is sustainable.

yeah you/he oughta be able to sustain a 40% ITM if he/you is good. Not ROI, but ITM, yes.

Edit: Although Mr. Irie has declared that it is impossible to get more than 44%, so id suggest to your buddy that he near the top of what is "possible"

Oh sorry, my ITM is 45.08% over 400 $11s playing at 9 player tables.

I bet it would be like 50% if you played 8 player tables /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif

that post by irie was filled with many statements that had no substance or truth and really should be ignored.
