beginner's posts?

I'm new to this forum. Is there a post or set of posts that beginners are pointed to when they come to this forum. I know that the short handed forum and sng forum have such posts. Kind of to get beginners out of the kiddie pool, if you will. Sorry for my inept search abilities. Thanks.
