Two 8-8 Hands looking to improve my play

How was this river play ? I think i should have raised here since he limped PF... UTG is 55/30/1.4 after 85 hands

Hand 1: I would raise the river here. You're behind to what: AA, KK, and 24.

Hand 2: Not sure, I would've lead the flop. I feel like you need to take control here either on the flop or the turn and lead out

first hand: how does your opponent see you? he is pretty loose and raises a lot, have you (or has he?)been doing anything to make you think that he'd only cap AA and KK on the turn?

If not, I raise river and call a threebet. My guess is he hadd 33.

First hand is fine but raise the river and call a 3-bet. Second hand I just CR the flop then lead the turn.

I think you need to raise the river in hand 1
Hand 2 seems ok, but you could c/r the flop

I realize that c/ring that flop then leading the turn is a standard play, but I'm not 100% sure I understand why we're making it.

Is it to take control and see where we're at? If an ace/king falls on the turn and he calls the bet, what is your river plan?

I would raise and cap the river in the first hand. Come on, not raising and then not even limp reraising KK or AA can't happen often enough to be worth considering... can it?

Second hand, I usually CR the flop and lead the turn.

My mistake. Missed the possible straight in the first hand. Still, I raise and call.

Edit: Nah, sorry. I raise and cap. The only thing that beats hero is KK, AA or 42 and if he plays any of those hands that way I'm loosing 1 extra BB this time and make a note.
