Or do you raise the turn? I put him on 99-JJ, but I didn't think he'd fold the river.

With the call on the turn, I'm with you...doubtful he's going anywhere on the river. Furthermore, YOUR declaration occured on the flop - the Ace on the river isn't too scary if I'm villian. The scariest card for him had to be the 8 on the turn. A good time to follow-up your TPTK kind of raise you made on the flop ("trips!!". As a fellow 1500 chipper, I wouldn't have any problem popping his T20 to T200 here. If he raises, I'm done. If he calls, I'd accept the check on the river despite being T400 invested. I've seen enough of your posts to know that you'd have plenty of time to work your way back up.

This was level 1 though. I had no idea whether this player could have an 8 or not, or if he could fold an overpair on a paired board. I just wanted to get to showdown as quickly as possible, but I don't know if feeling that way maximized my EV for this hand.
