Sure it was a bit of a bad beat, but that isn't what bothered me at all. This guy was a terrible player, and he just totally outplayed me with one hell of a donk move. I actually felt completely embarrassed after this. I was only willing to call his turn check-raise with top pair, and really, what changed on the river? Did I think he had 54?

I hate when that happens.. haha.

But I'd probably play it the same way, possibly 3-betting the turn out of anger.

The first check-raise didn't bother me, as it happens all the time. I've gotten used to that. But allowing him to check-raise a second time, I just felt like beating my head into the wall.

Brain damage is probably -EV.

What you did here is still better than mucking the best hand (which I did once in a live game because I misread the board).

some hotshot young kid at RCG mucked the best hand in a huge 4 way pot because he thought some other hotshot kid showed some other hole cards than what he really had. dealer didnt let him take it back. I laughed
