-Hadn't been at the table for very long so no reads.
-Wasn't really sure of what to make of his raise on the turn. I had bet smaller hoping to keep the pot small.

-Looking back I feel I should of bet a larger amount on the turn.
-Overall I felt I played this hand way too weakly.
-Thoughts?

i usually bet 8 and bet another 20 on the turn. i check call the river as long a K, J, heart doesn't show up. i don't really have a plan on what to do if a 7 or a 3 comes on the river. the way you played it i fold the turn if i don't plan on calling the river.

Reads are what matter in 6-max. Don't bet the turn if you are betting for $12, he probably thinks you have nothing and could be playing back with anything from complete air to a set.

Say I bet $20 on the turn and he flat calls. What do I do on the river? Check/Call a non-allin bet?

I think the flop bet was a little weak (slightly more than half), then you had a weak turn bet so he might have smelled chum in the water and went after it. Keeping in mind this is party though, you never know.

If he smooth calls the $20 turn bet, you could either check/call a non-push or throw out a blocking bet. Depending on what you think he has.

If you think he is capable of pushing on the river with hands you beat, then that is a good reason to check/call the turn. Keep the pot small.
