"Lott, who triggered a furor last week after praising Strom Thurmond’s segregationist presidential bid in 1948, appeared on Black Entertainment Television to call his gaffe “an opportunity for redemption.”
He added, “I am going to have to make changes, make amends and do something about it.” Specifically, he pledged his support for affirmative action programs and for creation of a “task force on reconciliation.”
He also said if he had to vote today he would vote for the federal holiday in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., which he voted against in 1983."
Oboy, another born-again white guy who now feels compelled to drag us all into his racial guilt fantasies. The Repub's are voting again on Jan. 6th for majority leader. He's done, and may have already resigned by then.
