Fresh from reading his piece in this month's issue, I sat down in a $6-$12 hold'em game at Hollywood Park Casino. Almost immediately I had the opportunity to use his valuable information, when a monotone flop arrived in the form of three diamonds. The player first to act rechecked his hole cards, stared at the board, and then fired in a bet. I flopped two pair and decided to raise, suspecting the player had only THE big diamond. The rest of the field folded and the initial bettor merely called. The turn and river were non-diamonds and I bet every street. My opponent, with a disgusted look, folded the ace of diamonds face up.

Later in the session, another monotone flop arrived, and this time a little old lady UTG rechecked her hole cards. I wasn't in the hand, but I suspected she flopped the flush. Well, I was right.

Although I was unable to book a win for this session, I learned a hell of a lot and I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Schnettler, who made me a bit more mindful of low-limit tells.

Thanks!

It's hard to believe you're the same guy who had n00b written on your forehead.
