six-handed $50 SNG on UB...

First hand, I get KK...one limper to me, I raise, get three callers.

flop is J96 rainbow

BB leads out with a pot-sized bet. One fold, I push.
Other limper folds, BB calls with J9os. I'm out.

Anyone else fold this flop???

What if he had checked the flop, I bet, and came over the top? Anyone fold that?

i'm pretty sure i don't fold this in either case.

What are the starting stacks for the six handed UB games? And what are the bet sizes here? I think a foldable situation is conceivable (though unlikely) given the right parameters, but only in the check/raise scenario. I'm coming over the top almost every time when he leads out.

Unless an A drops or a really scary board (4 flush or something that I don't have) comes out, I am going to the felt with this one.

[/ QUOTE ]Raise more. You never want three callers. Maybe you didn't know that at the time, but you need to figure out a good number that eliminates all but one or at the most two callers. But J9o is a moron. Remember his or her name and follow him or her around. Make lots of money.

No. If it was a minraise, calling does not make him a moron. Leading into the bettor was also a smart line.

[/ QUOTE ]I was assuming that it wasn't a minraise since nothing was said on the specific amount of the raise. I merely said that whatever he raised, it wasn't enough if he got three callers. If he minraised, then yes, he got what he deserved.

I should have specified. I agree completely with the first part of your post, I was just pointing out that we do not have enough information in the hand to make a judgement of BB's play.

I always raise at least the size of the pot...any more and i'm scaring away hands I want to call....it sure did surprise me to get three callers, though.

The bet was obviously too small to push out weak hands. 3xBB would do the trick here me thinks. Anything less and..... see above.

What was the specific amount of the bet on that raise?

You need to post stack sizes/bet sizes/blind sizes. In this case, payout structure would be helpful. Reads or such is a nice bonus.

All I know is you have KK....so getting your money in is likely good, but, no one can help you possibly improve your play if we have no idea how you're actually playing.

blinds are at 10-20
one limper, so there is $50 in the pot.

I bet $100 - 5x the BB

the fact I got 4 callers was NOT because the size of my raise was too small.

My play preflop was fine. I was asking about my flop play.

Guys, in my OP I said it was the first hand!

Stacks - 1500
Blinds - 10-20

payout for 1st - %70
payout for 2nd - %30

my preflop raise was pot-sized - roughly 5x the BB
