View Full Version : What's with the American Flag?

I'm quite sure if this tragedy happened in any other country you wouldn't have bothered to put up any other flag. The internet is an international medium and the posters at this site are from all parts of the world so I don't think you should treat a tragedy any different because it happened in the U.S.

The internet Is an international medium and through it you can access 2+2 Publishing which is owned and operated by proud citizens of the USA.

Why do you object to the flag on this page? Without it I would not know that this is an international website run by proud Americans.

I did not know there are domestic websites either, now that I think boutit. Anyway, thanks, Mason and thanks, gang for the flag. I like a strong dose of kitsch with my web. Sorts me out to reality, sorta.

I've been trying to keep my anger and frustration with your point of view under wraps, and to argue with you in a logical manner, but your flippancy in this post offends me. I will not say what I really want to, because it would be inappropriate on this forum, but I would like you to know how I feel, as I'm sure there are others who feel the same way.

I just heard about the Congressional resolution regarding the flag so its a little more understandable. I still think it's a little corny but that's just me. I think it's a bit of a cultural thing.

I was pleased to see America's flag waving on these pages. The image produced a ripple of pride and reassurance in me much like a reflex action (or to be more accurate, a classically conditioned response). The fact that the image elicited very different feelings in you and a couple others is revealing.
