I'm really not sure if I played this right...at all.

No reads as it was early. I had him on a draw.

I raise preflop. KQo isn't amazing but you have positition. Weed out the herd and immediately find out if anyone is slow-playing something from EP.

I jandle the flop like you did and push the turn.

I hope you aren't serious. I fold this one preflop without hesitation.

When's the last time you played the $10+1?

A while ago. But I play the 22s, which are similar. Raising KQo in level 2 is bad poker IMO, even if you dress it up in "but I will outplay my opponents postflop" reasoning.

I fold preflop.

However that's not really what you're interested in.

After the turn drops a blank card, I probably put the rest of my stack in and let him call the rest if he has the A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I played it preflop because of all the limpers. I guess that would make checking the turn more reasonable, as someone could've just limped in with two connecting diamonds.

Anyways, if this is K /images/graemlins/spade.gifQ /images/graemlins/spade.gif, do you limp in preflop?

And is the general consensus that I shouldn't have played this preflop, but I didn't botch it postflop?

KQs is tempting to limp with. If you hit a K or a Q you have to be very careful though.

As for this hand, I don't think you should be that afraid of the flush here. I think I would get my money in on the turn and if someone flopped a flush so be it.

Fold preflop. QK gets you in tons of trouble level 1-3, just like AJ.

Awesome, thanks guys.

PS He flopped a flush and busted me.

Lori, is it the presence of the two UTG limpers that causes you to fold PF here? KQ (suited or not) is a limp for me from button, CO, or CO+1 the majority of the time, and I'm easily one of the tighter players on this forum.

I don't think the limpers being UTG really make a difference. If people like to slowplay their aces, they'll do a minraise a lot of the time. The people in these tournies are pretty bad...

I dunno, I think I'll only limp from late positions from now on if this is suited.

In the Party $11s, my plan is to double up or bust out. KQ or KQs is never going to give me an option to do that comfortably.

Having got as safe a hand as I dare have on this flop, I push the turn... someone will often call with one diamond and I'm willing to take that chance with one card to come.

The limpers make the limp a bit better for me, I just like to preserve every chip for when I decide to push.

What do you think of putting in a biggish raise preflop?

Limping is tempting because of the odds. But very few flops are actually gonna make you any money besides whats in the pot now. You're setting yourself up for some nasty reverse implied odds

At the Party 10+1s I play KQ a lot like small PP. I want to play them, but if *anyone* shows *any* strength they go in the muck pile fast.

What does all this mean? Hell, I don't know, but those are my facts. (I *KNEW* KS was very profitable. Well, maybe I was wrong, but this was a good exercise!)

Of course I'm just a rookie, I could be wrong.
