I meant he could check that button so he could fold when someone bet instead of just open folding.

He/she was probably holding some suited cards that totally whiffed the flop and knew a preflop raise meant he was toast. Why continue in the hand only to fold 30 seconds later? Also, if you have no chance of winning, no king, no eight, no clubs, and are playing more than one table, why not quickly fold and concentrate on the other table?

Although when I do one it always seems to be that I call raises I never in a million years wanted to, but I'm sure I have done a first to act fold to no betting at least once.
