Audit or Tax?

What to specialize in? Please give your experiences. Pros and cons of both.

Danimal:

1. I assume this is undergrad and you are an accounting major - where do you go to school?

2. The audit path is a broader base and puts the CPA on your resume. After 3 years, the Audit path stinks and could subject you to huge legal exposure.

3. The tax path has less competition but it narrows your career options to basically the tax field.

I would go the audit route, get the CPA , leave, then get a MBA from a top 10 school and chase the big $$$ in whatever sector interests you.
